‘Intended to be there’: Texas man arrested after 3-day effort to breach CIA headquarters—

FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. — A Texas man has been charged with criminal trespass after he allegedly attempted to breach the CIA headquarters in Fairfax County, Virginia, several times.
The accused is 28-year-old Connor Lynn Mayo from Forth Worth, Texas, according to the affidavit in Virginia’s Eastern District Court.
On Monday, April 27, a white Hyundai Elantra drove up to the main gate of the headquarters after ignoring a trespassing sign. A CIA police officer questioned the driver, later identified as Mayo, who failed to provide his identification.
He then accelerated away from the gate and into the compound, the court document stated. The officer was able to stop him and directed him back to the Visitors Center.
While speaking to Mayo, he allegedly told the officer that he believed “he was intended to be at the CIA.”
They ran his Texas license plate and discovered that Mayo had trespassed at the main entrance of the headquarters twice before on Friday, April 24 and Sunday, April 26, 2026, according to the documents.

On the Friday incident, Mayo was told to leave the premises and that if he returned, he would face charges.
But in the Sunday incident, Mayo was able to get onto property again after he followed behind a cleared vehicle at the security gate when they passed through the raised barrier.
“Upon approaching the kiosk, cleared staff scan their credentials and the barrier arm rises, allowing the vehicle to pass before arriving at the manned gate. Mayo bypassed this security feature by following a cleared vehicle under the raised barrier without authorization,” the affidavit stated.
Despite this, Mayo was only issued a citation for trespassing and was warned that if he returned he would be arrested. He then allegedly expressed that he wanted to be arrested.
According to the document, Mayo also told officers he had visited the Pentagon the previous day (Saturday). This was the same day that an assassination attempt was made on President Donald Trump at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in Washington, D.C.

Right now, Mayo has only been charged with trespassing and has already been released from custody.
He was set for a status conference on Wednesday, but did not show up. That hearing has now been moved to June.
