(UPDATE) State Patrol: Austin Man Critically Injured in Crash—
(UPDATE) – The State Patrol has released the name of the Austin man who was severely injured Thursday morning in the collision on Highway 218 just north of Austin. The updated report on the crash indicates 71-year-old Ronald Gary Jacobson was transported by ambulance to the Mayo Clinic Health System Hospital in Austin suffering from life-threatening injuries. It also indicates he was wearing a seatbelt and alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
Austin, MN (KROC-AM News) – Reports indicate a traffic crash near Austin this morning resulted in serious injuries.
The Minnesota State Patrol says the two-vehicle collision was reported around 9:10 a.m. on Highway 218 at an intersection just north of Austin. The preliminary crash report indicates a pickup truck was traveling north on Highway 218 when it collided with a small car that was crossing the highway at the intersection.
Preliminary reports indicate the 71-year-old Austin man driving the car suffered serious injuries. His name has not been released.
