Airline says workers who refused to let woman board plane after medical procedure followed policy—
MIAMI (WFOR) – A health-related matter resulted in a change of travel plans for one Texas woman.
Shataria Banks was in Florida for a medical procedure, but when she tried to return to the Lone Star State, Spirit Airlines refused to let her come on board.
Cellphone video captured by Banks shows the confrontation she had with a Spirit Airlines employee Wednesday afternoon.
“Even though you all have my medical clearance, even though that my doctors clear me, you all are still restricting me to fly?” Banks questioned.
Spirit Airlines refused to let a woman board due to a recent surgery, but the company said policy was followed.Last week, Banks arrived in Miami from Houston for a cosmetic procedure she prefers to keep private.
Banks was in Florida for several days recovering and said she had clearance from her doctor allowing her to fly.
When Banks arrived to Miami International Airport, she went to the Spirit counter hoping she could check into her flight.
