Houston man arrested at Laredo international bridge in stolen vehicle case—

A Houston man was arrested after driving a stolen vehicle that was intercepted at a Laredo international bridge, according to the Laredo Police Department.

Officers responded at about 11:49 a.m. May 15 to the 100 block of Santa Ursula Avenue after receiving a report of a possible stolen vehicle.

When officers arrived, they met with investigators from the LPD Auto Theft Task Force, who were investigating the vehicle and confirming its status.

Investigators determined that the vehicle, a blue Chevrolet Suburban, had been reported stolen out of Houston, police said.

The vehicle was recovered, and the driver was identified as 32-year-old Jarvin Benjamin Romero of Houston, according to police.

Romero was charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

Jail records show Romero was booked into Webb County Jail and released May 16 after posting a $10,000 bond.
