A woman put razor blades in bread and muffins at Biloxi Walmarts. Here’s why she says she did it—

BILOXI, Miss. (WLOX) — Why would someone put razor blades in loaves of bread in a supermarket?
It’s the question many people asked following the arrest of a Texas woman in December 2025 after police say she put razor blades in bread and other bakery items at two Biloxi Walmarts.
Camille Benson pleaded guilty Friday to tampering with consumer products following an indictment in federal court.

On Dec. 15, 2025, Biloxi police were called to the Walmart stores on Pass Road and CT Switzer Sr. Drive after employees found razor blades shoved into loaves of bread and muffins on store shelves.
At least one bread loaf had been purchased.

According to the criminal complaint filed in federal court, after the incident received media attention, community tips led officers to homeless resource locations on Division Street.
Officers found Benson walking near Percy Street and Couevas Street.
The affidavit says Benson initially gave officers the name of “Camille Johnson,” but they later determined her actual name to be Camille Benson.
Benson was taken to the Biloxi Police Department and read her Miranda rights. Benson waived her right to an attorney, agreed to speak to investigators and confessed to placing the razor blades in the bakery items, the complaint reads.
So, why did she do it?
Benson told investigators she had “received news that her mother had died, and she was mad at the state of Mississippi.”
WLOX News has reached out to federal prosecutors to learn more about Benson’s claims.
A federal judge has set Benson’s sentencing for Oct. 29.
The charge she pleaded guilty to carries a maximum imprisonment of 10 years in prison and no more than three years of supervised release.
