LALWRENCE, Kan. (WIBW) – A woman was taken to an area hospital after she was injured in a single-vehicle crash Sunday afternoon on Interstate 70 along the Kansas Turnpike in Douglas County, authorities said.
The crash was reported at 12:28 p.m. Sunday on I-70 near the Kansas River bridge on the north side of Lawrence.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 2020 Dodge Challenger was westbound in the left lane of I-70 when the driver lost control of the car, which left the roadway to the right and struck a metal guardrail.
The driver and lone occupant of the car, Melina Del Real Torres, 24, of Amarillo, Texas, was transported to Overland Park Regional Medical Center with suspected minor injuries. The patrol said Torres was wearing her seat belt.
