BUNA, Texas — A 47-year-old man from Buna was arrested for criminal trespass and resisting arrest after refusing to leave a property on Pine Street, according to the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office. The incident occurred on January 25, 2026, around 1 p.m.
Deputy Harrell was dispatched to the scene and confirmed that Alvis Edmonds had previously been trespassed from the location. Despite the property owner’s repeated demands for Edmonds to leave, he refused and was subsequently arrested. Due to the ongoing Declaration of Disaster in Jasper County, the criminal trespass charge was elevated from a Class A Misdemeanor to a State Jail Felony.

While being secured into the patrol car, Edmonds resisted, leading to an additional charge of Resisting Arrest, Search, or Transportation, classified as a Class A Misdemeanor. He was transported to the Jasper County Jail.
