SHERMAN, Texas — A 20-year-old Dallas man has been sentenced to federal prison for a violent crime spree in the Eastern District of Texas, according to U.S. Attorney Jay R. Combs. Victor Heredia pleaded guilty to two counts of Hobbs Act robbery and received a 78-month sentence from U.S. District Judge Michael J. Truncale on January 5, 2026.

Heredia’s crime spree began on November 6, 2023, when he robbed a 7-Eleven convenience store on N. Josey Lane in Carrollton, discharging a firearm into the ceiling during the incident. The following day, he committed another robbery at gunpoint at a 7-Eleven on E. Rosemead Parkway in Carrollton. This case is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative by the Department of Justice aimed at combating illegal immigration, dismantling cartels and transnational criminal organizations, and protecting communities from violent crime. The investigation was conducted by the FBI and the Carrollton Police Department, with prosecution led by Assistant U.S. Attorney Matthew T. Johnson.
