NHC Says Possible Tropical Development In Gulf—

Increasing Chance For Gulf Tropical Development
The National Hurricane Center is watching a cluster of thunderstorms off the coast of Florida for possible tropical development later this week. Chances for development are increasing, as the system is becoming better defined.
This area of low pressure is crossing the Florida peninsula north of Orlando. The NHC is calling this “Invest 93L”, a term used to identify systems that could develop, allowing more sophisticated, high-resolution computer models to be run on them.
As this low travels westward and enters the extremely warm water of the Gulf by mid-week, there will be a small window of opportunity to develop into a tropical depression or tropical storm.
