A joint project between the Texas A&M University School of Public Health and Methodist Healthcare Ministries has revealed growing concern about the level of contaminants in the water supply of Hidalgo County colonias.

During their South Texas Safe Water Project, the team reviewed the water quality of two colonias along the U.S.-Mexico border — one in Alamo and another in Progreso.
