DHS: Sniper Attack on ICE Facility in Dallas Leaves 2 Detainees Dead, 1 in Critical Condition — Shooter Dead—
Updated reports indicate that two immigrant detainees are dead and one is in critical condition in Dallas after an attack on an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility early Wednesday morning. Reports indicate the shooter is dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
UPDATE 12:15 p.m.: DHS officials now report that the Dallas sniper killed two detainees, a number previously reported, but changed to one earlier in the day by FBI Director Kash Patel. The most recent statement from DHS, the parent agency of ICE, states:
This morning, a deranged gunman attacked a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Dallas field office from a nearby rooftop. The shooter fired indiscriminately at the ICE building, as well as at a van in the sallyport where the victims were shot.Three detainees were shot. Two are deceased, and the other is in critical condition. The gunman was found with a self-inflicted gun wound.
