Houston man charged in fatal shooting and wounding of another—
HOUSTON, Texas — A 36-year-old man has been charged in connection with a fatal shooting and the wounding of another individual late on March 24.
Leslie Sutton, 36, is facing charges of murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 486th Criminal District Court, according to a press release from the Houston Police Department. The identity of the deceased victim, a 61-year-old man, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant B. Roberts and Detective J. Wallschlaeger reported that officers responded to a shooting call at a business and found two individuals with gunshot wounds in the parking lot. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced one victim deceased at the scene. A second male, 34, was transported to an area hospital by private vehicle and is expected to survive his injuries.
Officers identified and located Sutton, who was taken into custody. Detectives consulted with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, and Sutton was charged and booked into the Harris County Jail.
