Truck inspection leads to DUI and drug charges of a Texas man—
VIGO CO. – On March 6th, at approximately 7:10 p.m., Trooper William Clark was working on Interstate 70 near the seven mile marker when he observed a semi tractor trailer that was exceeding the posted speed limit.
Trooper Clark used his lidar and received a reading of the semi traveling 80 MPH in a posted 60 MPH zone.
Trooper Clark stopped the semi and the driver was identified as Alex Brown, 33, of Killeen, Texas. Suspicious activity was immediately detected. West Terre Haute Police was contacted and a free air sniff was conducted by their K-9.

A search of the vehicle was conducted by Trooper Clark, where he located marijuana, synthetic urine, and a loaded handgun.
Further investigation by Trooper Clark also revealed that Brown displayed signs of impairment. Brown refused to submit to field sobriety test and a certified chemical test. He was arrested and taken to the Vigo County Jail where he is currently being held.
Alex Brown, 30, of Killeen, TX, is facing charges of weapon in possession of a violent felon, a Level 4 felony, possession of synthetic urine, a Class B misdemeanor, possession of marijuana, a Class B misdemeanor and operating a vehicle while intoxicated, at Class C misdemeanor.

All criminal defendants are presumed innocent until, and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
