Texas Man Arrested in Newton for Lascivious Acts With a Child—

A Texas man was arrested by the Newton Police Department on three charges for lascivious acts with a child stemming from an incident that occurred in December.

According to court records, the child was at a sleepover at the house of a friend, where 60-year-old Manuel Weeks had been staying for approximately three weeks due to his homeless status in the state of Texas. At approximately 11:30 pm, Weeks allegedly entered the living room of the residence, before sitting down next to and sexually assaulting the victim. Court records indicated that the victim attempted to push Weeks away multiple times before he eventually left the room.

Weeks has been charged a Class C felony for lascivious acts with a child – fondling or touching, an aggravated misdemeanor for assault with intent to commit sexual abuse, and a serious misdemeanor for lascivious conduct with a minor. Weeks is scheduled to appear in court for his arraignment on January 5th at 9:30 am.
