AUSTIN (KXAN) — One of the wonders of the world is now in Austin… kind of.
Reva Enzminger, an entrepreneur who owns an immersive tech center, opened Austin’s newest virtual reality, or VR, experience on Friday.
Enzminger cut the ribbon on “Horizon of Khufu,” a 45-minute immersive journey in Giza, Egypt. Enzminger, owner of VieVR, partnered with French software company Excurio to bring the experience to Austin.
Excurio has immersive VR productions across the world that have attracted more than 3 million visitors since first opening in 2020, according to its website. The software company develops its experiences in collaboration with world-renowned scientists and historians to “bring the past and future vividly to life,” according to a press release.
