HOUSTON – An officer shot a robbery suspect who held an employee at gunpoint at an ACE Cash Express in north Houston on Monday morning, police say.

Armedrobberysuspectshotbypolice Whatweknow: Houstonpolicesayofficersrespondedtoapanicalarminthe200blockofW.GreensRoad,nearI-45,around8:30a.m. AccordingtoHPD,amanwasholdingawomanwhoworksatthebusinessatgunpointandwasusingherasashield. Policesaythesuspectwalkedoutofthebusinesswiththewoman,andanofficershotthesuspectmultipletimes. Thesuspectwastakentothehospitalandwaslastreportedtobeinstablecondition. Theemployeesandofficerswerenotinjured. Whatwedon’tknow: Nooneinvolvedintheincidenthasbeenidentified.Theofficerissaidtobea6-yearveteranofthedepartment.
