COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS — A Texas man who drove seven hours to confront his wife because he believed she was having an affair has been sentenced to life in prison for a killing prosecutors described as one of the most brutal domestic violence cases in recent memory. Investigators say the victim begged for her life as she was stabbed repeatedly with scissors.

According to the College Station Police Department, 47-year-old Brian Alan Jutson Sr. admitted he left his job in West Texas in 2023 and drove directly to his home on Renee Lane, convinced his wife, Sherry Shugart Jutson, was cheating.
